COMMUNITY_CENTER
Civic / Landscape · Virginia
A facility exploring the threshold between interior and exterior landscape, cantilevered over a natural slope.
The Community Center investigates the threshold between the interior and the exterior landscape, dissolving the boundary between built and natural space.
The structure is cantilevered over a natural slope to minimize environmental disruption, allowing the terrain to flow beneath the building largely untouched.
Native horticultural gardens are woven through the program, integrating ecology into everyday use and reinforcing the building's environmental stewardship.
