LIFTED_GROUNDS

Adaptive reuse and urban farming project that replaced an unused parking lot with three interconnected spaces.

Lifted Grounds reimagines a neglected surface parking lot in Alexandria as a layered civic landscape. Three interconnected spaces stitch together community gathering, cultivation, and circulation.

The centerpiece is a floating farm bridge supported by I-beams and steel trusses, lifting productive growing beds above the ground plane and freeing the surface for public life below.

The project treats infrastructure as architecture: the structural system is left expressive and legible, celebrating the act of reuse rather than concealing it.
